This goes for anyone that believes that social bookmarks are a great benefit when it comes to SEO. Well the truth is that you are really wasting your time and money if you are doing mass social bookmark submissions and I am going to lay it out for you why.
Do not get me wrong some bookmarks are decent like reddit and digg which are great for viral marketing it if you can get it but besides the 4 bigs ones social bookmarks are almost a total waste!
Top 3 Reasons Why Social Bookmarking is a waste for SEO!
Many Social bookmarks are low quality – Remember the Panda Update! Google decided that all content farms and low quality general category websites will have very little value. So this is number one. If the websites are low value then if you have a link on it what is it worth to you? Not much. So why not take the time and try to find quality links instead.
Your Bookmarks never get indexed – These are heavily updated websites with little authority. There pages almost never get indexed. Yes you might get a couple here and there but majority will never get indexed on major search engines. If they never get indexed it does not count as a link to your website. No link… No Juice…. No SEO Power!
Social Bookmarks Disappear like the wind – These websites come and go. Here is the reason why. People that created these websites are not making any money. If they are not making money why have a social bookmarking website up. This is a waste of time for them. So those links you have gotten indexed will probably disappear in 1 year.

I get hundreds of posts daily, but my traffic only says 15-20 uniques. I had mine up for about 1 year and then dropped it because it was a waste of time. So I am here to just tell everyone that has been thinking social bookmarks is the way to go or has spent money on this then you need to stop because it is a waste of time!

The problem is there are still people out here promoting such a campaign, it never worked! Digg is also a waste of time from my point of view, a real viral potential only reddit haves.
it may be waste for SEO point of view, but it gives me regular traffic.
